I am working with my friend Abiri @ Cry Wolf in New York on a concept called video retail. Think about going to a web browsers and rather than getting a stale catalog layout to buy something, you get a real live person, just like as if you walked into the store. Check it out: live.crywolfny.com
We have entered a new era in American history. In Obama's acceptance speech he referenced many historically significant times of change and progression of culture. The Harlem Renaissance, although not mentioned, deserves a place on that list. The first video I ever made, with in camera editing, might stand today as one of the most important works of my career. In "The Harlem Renaissance" I interview Cornel West, William Pope.L and Rolf Gidlow. I have watched this film more than 100 times and I still get something out of it every time. This time it meant even more as we enter another era of cultural change in American and African American society. I wish that I had the opportunity to interview these incredibly bright people again!
