Construction

My god mother, Kate Elliott, started a wonderful tradition when I was only 3 years old. Each Birthday and Christmas she would give me a new tool. Hammer, chizzle, planer, level, square, tool box, tire pressure check, architecture measuring kit. To this day, I sill build with the same set of tools. Here (coming soon) is a photo of me when I was 2 years old just after my family move from 1165 E 98th st. in NYC to Milwaukee WI

Outdoor Shower #2
It has been a busy few construction weeks. This outdoor shower design has been on my mind since I saw a room divider that looked like this in Dwell Magazine. It became a reality when I found the mahogany wood strips at the rebuilding center.

Western Style Gate: Summer 2008
Molly and I built a western style gate on Chambers Island in WI. With a few found logs on the beach, a chain saw and a few random tools we built this. I had this idea in my head and excited that it finally became a reality.

Sustainable Sauna: Humboldt house
In 2006 I built a sauna in the back yard. All of the materials were purchased at the Rebuilding Center in Portland Oregon, cool place, I recommend it!

Well, I moved, no more sauna in the back yard. Now it is time to plan for the next Sauna or something. I think this one is going to have 2 floors. The second floor will be a little loft like tree house thing. Regardless, I think it is going to have a Frank L Wright Theme after I visited Taliesin West in AZ. Inspiration:

Sweat Lodge
In 1999 I built a sweat lodge modeled after the traditional American Indian structure. On the right is my next idea/dream design:

NYC Loft (by my sister)
Kayt Brumder and Jorge P just built this amazing loft in their NYC APT. Kayt is taking it back to the upper east side where we grew up and learned to swing the hammer.

My sister was in the NY Times for this loft. Check it out.
